Mulavana Lakshmy, has over 35+ years’ experience in her specialism of international infrastructure engineering, contract and construction matters including those in Australia and globally. Typical project types include roads projects, bridges, tunnels, facility, water treatment facilities and processing development, PPP and PFI projects. In addition to being a trained Civil and Structural Engineer, she is also Fellow of Engineers Australia, Fellow of Chartered Professional Engineer , Fellow of Chartered Institute of Arbitrator, Certified Risk Manager, Claims Specialist, Trained Mediator , Adjudicator and Dispute Board specialist. She has held senior positions in Government Organisations (Sydney Australia) International Construction Companies (Leighton’s Asia, John Holland and Thiess John Holland JV) and also in International Consulting firms.

As an engineer she has been responsible for all aspects of planning, development and delivery (design & construction) and asset management of a significant number of major transport infrastructure projects globally. She has also had leading roles in developing and delivering policy directions for the public and private sectors. Her strength lies in developing relationships and understanding the underlying cause of disputes and strategically resolving and /or delivering the preferred outcome for both parties.

Her experience in working with contractors and government agencies along with her understanding of their contractual responsibilities enables her to deliver to the exacting requirements of these clients/contractors Having prepared tenders for contractors, being part of contract negotiations representing the client and/or contractors, she is able to help improve efficiency, effectiveness and success of the project delivery enabling a win-win position to all parties. She also adds to her portfolio her understanding of the interface of the key aspects of the environmental approvals, design, stakeholder involvement, construction, completion and delivery of a project in its totality. She has innate strength and skill in planning work, managing and understanding people and time, all of which assist her to deliver in a timely manner.

Ms Lakshmy brings a unique holistic understanding of infrastructure construction as well as the individual perspectives from the client, community/stakeholder and contractors. This wide ranging experience has enabled her to resolve any impediments with community/stakeholders, contractors or clients effectively and efficiently, thus enabling the projects that she has been involved with to be delivered on time, within the cost budget and at the required levels of quality.

Her keen ability to manage staff and teams and focus in on their strengths and enable them to deliver to their full potential is a hallmark of her ability.
